Testing out a new option to save time. Specifically right now we need a warden supe for lunch shift, until Ben comes home. If you're not used to working on a line or feeding a lot of people, we won't drop you into combat with no training. Marsh and I will help you out.

Oh. Not related to the kitchen-- I smelled a still running last month. Whoever it is, I want to pick your brain about fermentation.

Nah. Fungus, technically, but not very complicated ones. They eat sugar and excrete alcohol.

Probably not going to be real filling, but it's ... something. In case of emergencies.

Or, I had. But I've never tried to kill with usual poisons.

What about a shot of pure ethanol in a container of living yeast? It'd get you fucked up and lots of little things would die at your hand.

There's a lot of less glamourous life forms you haven't tried killing yet. We got a lot to try. And maybe we get a breeding colony of something going in the interim, something vertebrate or at least complex enough you get something.
