But you're friends now, to the point that you're staying in that place to wait for him. I don't understand what the complication is. Unless it's about his stubborn refusal to try and leave.

He's never going to forgive himself. Probably he shouldn't, considering. He has to understand that it's not him who gets to choose.

He can get out of here. He will, one day.

He resurrected my dead dog for me. It meant a lot.

Dead is part of who he is now. He can't change it easily. I don't think he has to. I don't mind him dead.
