So.

The admiral's getting a little difficult to please these days, ain't he? 'I've made some changes. Go explore them. They may kill you.' Now, me, I love a little urban free-for-all, but apparently not everyone grew up playing survive the streets.

Still, the admiral wants us ready to handle environments like this. I can try to train people who are interested, but I'm an animal kind of guy, all instinct, no playbook, and that's hard to teach. I'ma need help. People who can teach, who can get me up to speed, who have specialties. And people who want to learn.

Maybe we're jumping the gun, but I don't feel like it. People are starting to talk survival packs again, and that doesn't seem like a bad idea. How much of all that dried meat we stashed is left? Enough to start breaking it out into rations for people to keep on them, in case-?

And what we did before without any warning that there was actually impending doom awaiting us wasn't jumping the gun? I think we should, along with bottles of water. If those environments are any indicator of things to come, fresh water might be in short supply.

Beans. Dried refried beans can last until they add water to them.

We should be capable of improvising some MREs. Dried fruit, meat or protein alternative, dried vegetables, a canteen of water.

I'm good enough with a variety of range weapons, but surviving in primitive conditions isn't one of my fortes. Finding food, shelter, water...
