I go down for a nap and someone jacks the barge. Really.

[Riddick's voice is hoarse with sleep, but backreading the network sure was a wake-up call.]

[Not even going to go "YOU'RE AWAKE" over the network like that isn't obvious, just going to head over to Riddick's cabin.

Knock knock.]

[Partner reanimated when Riddick did, cold stasis turning to yawning, rolling unlife; he's first to the door, warbling a greeting, yapping excitedly.]

...yeah, I'm going.

[That reaction means Ned, Sylvanas, or Arthas-- he really needs to teach the dog how to indicate which undead and/or necrmomancer he's excited about. When he sees it's Arthas, he smiles drowsily and opens the door.]

I hate this fucking boat, [Arthas says, by way of "hello," and steps around Partner to come into the cabin.]

You're up to date?

Yeah. [He rolls his neck, stretching out like a cat.]

This fucking boat. Unusual toll, too? Read that. You ain't tolling, are you?

For once, no. No thanks to the Emperor.

[Arthas sets his forehead against Riddick's shoulder, just briefly. It's been a long couple of weeks.]

...don't kill him again, a'ight? Not that I give a shit about him, but it'll get you into it with his friends.

[Fuss fuss, protective protective. He kisses the cold forehead.]

What is it about this place that people think they need to make it just that little bit worse.

[Arthas shakes his head angrily when the kiss is done.]

He tortured Sylvanas. I'm not afraid of his friends.

[Riddick purses his lips. He isn't jealous in the strictest sense-- doesn't mind about sharing a partner, even in this weird hate-affair way. What he minds is that Sylvanas is bound and fucking determined to pull Arthas down with her and it scares him.]

Do you have plans?

No. I'm done with him. Unless he does it again.

[Arthas barely understands what to call whatever the connection between him and Sylvanas has become as it is. He feels like he owes her a debt, an awful one.]

He helped me, the last time I death tolled. I asked him and he cut out my heart to keep it safe. I thought that was respect.
